NEW YORK — Dominican airline Arajet will add a third daily flight to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) from the Dominican Republic starting next spring, officials announced. Tourism Minister David Collado and Arajet CEO Víctor Pacheco made the joint announcement, highlighting expanded air connectivity between the Dominican Republic and the New York metropolitan area.

The expansion comes amid sustained growth in demand from the Dominican diaspora in the United States and increasing tourist and traveler traffic between the two nations. Pacheco stated the new daily route underscores Arajet's dedication to providing accessible, competitive, and quality service, particularly during peak travel periods like the Christmas season.

Both officials confirmed that Dominican travelers can expect “the most affordable prices in the market” for the upcoming holiday season. They emphasized Arajet's goal of facilitating family reunions without straining budgets.

“This is the result of the Dominican government's efforts to implement 'open skies' agreements, fostering greater competition and improved connectivity,” Minister Collado said. “Thanks to this, we now see a Dominican airline flying to six U.S. cities at the most competitive market prices.”

Currently, Arajet operates two daily flights between Santo Domingo's Las Américas Airport (SDQ) and Newark (EWR). The first flight departs Santo Domingo at 6:10 a.m., arriving in Newark at 9:30 a.m. A recently added second flight leaves at 7:10 p.m. and lands at 10:30 p.m.

The upcoming third daily frequency aims to further expand Arajet's offerings to meet the increasing travel demand between the Dominican Republic and the New York diaspora. It also solidifies the airline's standing as a low-cost, high-value option for both domestic and international travelers.
