SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic – Anheuser-Busch InBev, the global brewing company behind Corona beer, has selected the Dominican Republic as a new production hub for the iconic brand, President Luis Abinader confirmed after meeting with company executives recently.
This significant foreign investment underscores investor confidence in the Dominican Republic's legal security and economic health, which the government attributes to its policies and strengthened institutions in recent years.
President Abinader congratulated Jean Jereissati, CEO for AB InBev's Middle Americas Zone, and Fabián Suárez, president of CND, along with Anheuser-Busch InBev executives Luis Álvarez and Jochi Pérez, on the decision. He emphasized the investment's importance for local economic growth and job creation.
"Achievements like these are a testament to the confidence investors have in the Dominican government, driven by an environment of economic, legal, and social stability," the Dominican leader stated.
The establishment of Corona beer production represents a significant milestone for the country and highlights its capacity to attract high-quality investments. Anheuser-Busch InBev, one of the world's largest brewers, views its presence in the nation as a vote of confidence in the Dominican economy.
The meeting between Anheuser-Busch InBev executives and President Abinader took place at the presidential office in the National Palace. It also included Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza and Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mipymes Víctor “Ito” Bisonó.
